We know that the area around Korczew was inhabited very early – the oldest traces of human settlements in nearby Tokary are over 11,000 years old, and the whole region abounds in archaeological sources. The oldest monument of Korczew is the Menhir stone in the Korczew park, which was the object of pre-Christian worship.
